The NRIs from Telangana living in different parts of the world faced tremendous problems while buying land in the state in the absence of their Aadhaar cards. The NRI groups led by MLC K Kavitha and TRS wing coordinator Mahesh Bigala have conveyed the issue faced by the NRIs to the government.

In view of these issues, the government decided to give easy access to the Dharani Portal to the NRIs by simply using their passports. They can now peacefully purchase and maintain their assets in the state and they thanked the government for the same. The decision was taken in view to keep everyone’s interest in check.

The Telangana state government has made the much-relieved provisions for the NRIs to be able to upload their land documents without any obligations of an Aadhaar card number.

The entire procedure would involve:

  • Filling of the application
  • Summary of the details to be sent to the District Collectors of the relevant areas for verification
  • Approval or rejection process (with reason)
  • The e-PPB (Pattadar Passport Book) to be digitally signed by Tehsil on approval of the application.

This is a brilliant move by the CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao with an assurance to the Telangana NRIs of availing maximum benefits.

Hyderabad is the first city in India to apply for the ‘Water Plus City’ certification after retaining the ODF++ certification for 3 years. The certificate is being issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to ensure that the untreated waste-water is not released into the environment.

Under GHMC, every day around 1781 MLD of sewage is generated out of which 770 MLD is treated with the help of 18 STPs of HMWSSB. Other cities are able to treat only 20–30% of the generated sewage in comparison to 43% by HMWSSB in the city alone.

The decision for the certificate is likely to be out soon.
